Thank you all so much for your continued support as my third year in business comes to a close. Although I was only officially open for Q1 of this year,

I look forward to re-opening in early 2013 and wish everyone a

It's a Boy!

Monroe Micah Dexheimer entered our lives on October 19th, 2012 at 12:43am... 

tipping the scales at 8 lb 6 oz, measuring in at 21 inches! 

We could not be more blessed! 

I will be enjoying the time with my little family and re-opening The Avocado Seed in early January 2013. Stay tuned !

A Break to Nap

Viva NashVegas!

Dex and I just got back from a weekend trip to Nashville, TN and we had such a blast! 

We had never been there before 

but had only heard great things 

so we thought we would take a road trip!

I thought I would post a new bag I made for our trip. 

I had made a messenger bag for a custom order recently 

and I love how it turned out so I wanted one similar for myself!

I'm a couple weeks late but 

Happy New Year! 

I hope everyone is having a fabulous start to 2012! 

My two week break was very much needed and very much enjoyed.

I spent my time off, cleaning, watching TV,
shopping, going to Wisconsin for the Christmas holiday 

and having great friends come to Chicago to ring in the New Year!

I have since been back in The Avocado Seed
and have been busy filing orders again! 

Receiving one order a day is much more peaceful than 10 a day 

since I am a one person show, 

so I am very much enjoying receiving and filling orders this January ;)

(Although I am very, very thankful for all of your Holiday orders, 

scrambling to complete or not, 

I am blessed to have you to support me
and overall it was very fun, just a bit stressful at times =))

Yesterday, while Dex was watching football all day, 

I created a couple new items with this fabric I just love... 

check them out below! 

I love this new little card holder....
I thought it would be nice to use as a debit/ID holder
for Clutch/Wristlet purses since they don't allow room for large wallets...
also great for Business Cards, Gift Cards, Credit Cards, etc!

I was so excited to have figured out a new way
to make make-up bags much larger! 

The new boxy style allows many more travel items
and all bags are canvas or patterned lined.

Corky Corks!

Today is my best girlfriend's birthday! 
I wish I was closer (and/or in the same state at least) to celebrate with her =( 
Unfortunately, that will have to wait until I head home next or she comes to ChiTown! 

Remember the recent wedding where I had thrown the 
"Wiggin' Out Before The Wedding" Party?  Post found here! he, he) well... 
that's her! She had an amazing Las Vegas wedding
and a group of her friends (in her wine group) 
gave her an awesome wedding gift... a wine rack (what could be more fitting right?)!

A very modern, amazing dark cherry rack from Crate & Barrel.... 

I just adore it and dream of having space in a home where 
I can have one myself one day! 

I thought she would enjoy looking at (and taking bottles off of, ha!) her beautiful wine rack 

decorated with this cute new birthday gift! 
She would have gotten a bottle of my favorite kind of wine from Trader Joe's
however, I learned from her that you cannot ship wine with the Post Office 
(as she tried to send me her favorite kind at my birthday!)

I have had serious bag fetish ever since I was little.
I remember sewing little zippered cases in Middle School
